CUET is a gateway for admission to undergraduate courses in approximately 250 universities across India. These 250 universities include central universities, state universities, deemed universities, private universities and other universities. According to the official notice released by NTA, every year more than 14 lakh candidates apply for the CUET exam. The CUET exam will be conducted from May 15 to May 31 in three slots.

CUET Marking Scheme

As per the CUET  marking scheme, each correct question carries five marks and there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. The marking scheme is given in detail below-

  • Correct answer or most appropriate answer: Five points (+5)
  • One mark (-1) will be deducted for marking any wrong option.
  • Unanswered/Marked for review No marks will be given (0)
  • If more than one option is found correct then only five marks (+5) will be given to those marking any correct option.
  • If all the options of a question are found correct then five marks (+5) will be given to all those who answered the question.
  • If any option is not found correct or any question is found wrong or any question is dropped, five marks (+5) will be given to all the candidates who have attempted the dropped question.

CUET  Exam Syllabus

The CUET  syllabus has been released by NTA with the official notification. The syllabus of CUET is similar to the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. The common subjects in the CUET Syllabus are English, General Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude,/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning and General Knowledge. CUET Exam  Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to appear for the CUET  examination must fulfill the CUET  eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for CUET  are the conditions that every candidate must fulfill if they want to appear for the entrance exam. Some important essential qualifications are as follows-

CUET Educational Qualification:
  • For admission to undergraduate degree programs in central universities, students must have passed the 12th class in Science or a related stream from a recognized board.
  • Those students of class 12th who have not yet appeared in the board exams were also eligible to apply.
Age Limit for CUET Exam:

There is no age limit to appear for the CUET  exam. However, candidates must satisfy the age criteria (if any) of the University/Institute/Organization in which they wish to take admission.

Nationality for CUET Exam:
  • To be eligible for the CUET exam, candidates must follow the following citizenship rules.
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to establish his permanent home and reside permanently.
  • Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians and Vietnamese who have come to India permanently.
