Incentive Scheme Rules 2003-2004 for encouraging students of backward classes on their success in civil services examinations Approval has been given to implement Incentive Scheme Rules 2003-04 for the financial year 2003-04 and to start a scheme for the success of students of backward classes at various levels in the Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi and Civil Services Examination conducted by M.P. Public Service Commission.

Objective of the Scheme

The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to persons of backward classes residing in Madhya Pradesh as an incentive for their success in the All India Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and State Level Civil Services Examinations conducted by the M.P. Public Service Commission.

Beneficiaries of the Scheme

Students of backward classes who have passed the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC).

Nature of Incentive Scheme

  • This incentive amount will be given only once at each level. The applicant must be included in the list of backward classes declared in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The income of the applicant’s parents for the MPPSC exam should not be less than the income limit prescribed for the Backward Classes Postgraduate Scholarship.
  • There is no income limit for the UPSC exam.
  • Applicants must apply in the prescribed form within one year of passing the Civil Services Examination.

Incentive amount:

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission):
  • On passing the preliminary examination: ₹25,000/-
  • On passing the main examination: ₹50,000/-
  • On being selected after the interview: ₹25,000/-
MPPSC (Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission):
  • On passing the preliminary examination: ₹15,000/-
  • On passing the main examination: ₹25,000/-
  • On being selected after the interview: ₹10,000/-

Effect of sanction and payment

The concerned District Collector will have the right to sanction the incentive amount based on the success of backward class candidates in the All India/State level Civil Services Examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission/Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.

On passing each level of civil service examinations, the candidates will be paid incentives as per rules on applying the prescribed form to the Assistant Commissioner/District Coordinator, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class Welfare Office of the concerned district.

Process of applying

  • The applicant has to apply in the prescribed form to the Assistant Commissioner/District Coordinator, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class Welfare Office.
