Lakhpati Didi Scheme 2024: Apply, Eligibility and Benefits

The BJP government launched the Lakhpati Didi Scheme in Rajasthan on 23 December 2023. Created to uplift women by providing financial assistance, the scheme aims to promote entrepreneurship and improve the financial status of women in the state.

The primary goal of this scheme is to assist economically deprived women by providing them a loan of Rs 5 lakh without interest. The government aims to create three crore Lakhpati Didis in villages across India and benefit 11.24 lakh women in the state of Rajasthan.

The scheme gained prominence in providing loans to eligible women and organizing monthly camps to distribute loans, especially to low-income women.

Additionally, effective training sessions ensure that women acquire the necessary skills for business endeavours that contribute to their economic development.

Lakhpati Didi App

While launching this scheme the government also decided to declare this program in the form of an app.

It is a free app developed under the Business & Productivity category, which is specially designed to help SHG families and their members track their income before and after becoming a part of NRLM.

With the help of this app, the government can provide various information, services and benefits to its women customers instantly and globally.

Lakhpati Didi Yojana Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this scheme applicants have to pass various eligibility criteria which are given below:

• The applicant woman must be a permanent resident of the state.
• The annual income of the applicant woman’s family should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.
• No member of the applicant woman’s family should be doing a government job.

Benefits of the Lakhpati Didi Scheme

• Women have been linked to self-help groups, enabling them to receive training in areas such as LED light making, plumbing, drone repairs, etc.
• The scheme facilitates the entry of 20000 new women into Self Help Groups which encourage them to manage and start their businesses.
• Women SGS will receive drones for irrigation activities which marks a technological shift to enhance the rural agriculture sector and empower women.
• Around 15000 women SGS will undergo training in drone operation and repair.
• Drone irrigation has the potential to revolutionize agriculture, allowing precision farming crop monitoring and pest control.
• The scheme provides various additional benefits like financial literacy workshops, loan facilities, insurance coverage, talent development, financial incentives etc.

How to apply for Lakhpati Didi Yojana?

The steps that are important to know to implement this scheme are:

• Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria.
• Prepare necessary documents like residence certificate, Aadhar card, ration card, income certificate, bank account information and mobile number.
• Join a local self-help group if you are not already a member. These groups are often the primary channels where information about plans is disseminated.
• Visit the nearest Anganwadi centre. They provide detailed information regarding the scheme and also give you proper guidance regarding the application process.
• Get and fill out the application form for Lakhpati Didi Yojana. Make sure all information is complete and accurate.
• Then submit the application form with all the required documents through the designated office or Anganwadi centre.
• After submission, your application will go through the verification process. This may include checking your eligibility and documents.
• You will receive confirmation once the application is approved. This could be through letter, SMS or email as per the communication process of the scheme.
• The plan may require you to attend financial literacy workshops and other training programs.
• After successful enrollment, you can avail financial assistance, skill development training and other benefits of Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
