Objective

Mukhyamantri Kalyani Vivaah Sahayata Yojana was launched to provide social security and financial assistance to widows living in Madhya Pradesh, ensuring their livelihood and welfare.

Eligibility Criteria and Beneficiary Selection Process

  • The widow (Kalyani) and her husband must be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The widow must be at least 18 years of age and her husband at least 21 years of age at the time of marriage.
  • The widow must not be an income taxpayer.
  • The widow must not be a government employee or officer (this includes employees or officers working under the State or Central Government or any government-aided corporation, enterprise or institution).
  • The widow must not be receiving a family pension.
  • Restrictions on BPL (Below Poverty Line) status for this scheme. The person whom the widow marries must not have a living wife.
  • Suppose the widow benefits from Kalyani Vivaah Sahayata Yojana. In that case, she will not be eligible for other marriage schemes such as Mukhyamantri Vivaah Sahayata Yojana, Kanya Vivaah/Nikaah Yojana and Divyang Vivaah Protsahan Yojana.
  • If the widow is married under the mass marriage ceremony of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, then she will be eligible for benefits only under the Kalyani Marriage Assistance Scheme.
  • If the widow is married under the mass marriage ceremony of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, then she will be eligible for benefits only under the Kalyani Marriage Assistance Scheme.
  • If the widow herself is disabled, if her husband is disabled, or if both are disabled, then they will be eligible for benefits only under the Kalyani Marriage Assistance Scheme.
  • The widow doesn’t need to have a mass marriage, individual marriages are also eligible for it.
  • If the widow has minor children, the responsibility of their upbringing will be shared jointly by the widow and her husband.
  • The application for the Mukhyamantri Kalyani Marriage Assistance Scheme must be submitted within one year from the date of marriage. Applications submitted after one year will not be considered.

Application/Contact/Registration/Training

To avail of the Mukhyamantri Kalyani Vivah Sahayata Yojana, the applicant has to submit the prescribed application form along with the required documents to the office of the Collector, Joint/Deputy Director, Social Justice & Disabled Welfare of the district from where the marriage certificate was issued, irrespective of where the couple resides.

Application Process

  • The applicant has to submit the prescribed application form along with the required documents to the office of the Collector, Joint/Deputy Director, Social Justice & Disabled Welfare of the district from where the marriage certificate was issued.
  • The Collector’s Office and Joint/Deputy Director, Social Justice & Disabled Welfare have to provide an acknowledgement receipt to the applicant.
  • The Joint/Deputy Director, Social Justice & Disabled Welfare has to maintain a register of applications received for the Kalyani Vivah Sahayata Yojana.
  • All documents must be properly recorded for audit purposes.

Required Documents

  • Proof of residence in Madhya Pradesh for the widow and her husband.
  • Nine-digit Samagra ID of the widow and her husband.
  • Age proof of the widow and her husband.
  • Photocopy of the widow’s bank passbook indicating the account number and IFSC code.
  • Photocopy of the widow and her husband’s Aadhaar card (if available).
  • Photocopy of marriage certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Death certificate of the widow’s previous husband and affidavit of the widow stating that the deceased mentioned in the death certificate was indeed her husband.
  • Self-declaration by the widow stating that she is not an income tax payee.
  • Self-declaration by the widow stating that she is not a government employee/officer.
  • Self-declaration by the widow stating that she is not receiving a family pension.
  • Self-declaration by the widow’s husband stating that he has no living wife (not applicable if the husband was previously unmarried).
  • Two passport-size photographs of the widow and her husband and a joint photograph taken at the time of marriage.

The objective of this comprehensive scheme is to provide adequate support to the widows in Madhya Pradesh and ensure their social and financial security through remarriage.
