Way forward

The Madhya Pradesh Shaurya Dal Yojana is a positive step towards the empowerment of rural women, but some areas need improvement to make this scheme more effective. Let us see how this scheme can be strengthened in the future:

  • Raising Awareness: There is a need to raise awareness in rural areas about the scheme. The government should conduct grassroots campaigns in collaboration with gram panchayats, women’s self-help groups, and NGOs.
  • Ensuring Easy Access: Ensuring women have access to training programmes and financial assistance is important. The registration process can be simplified through Anganwadi centres and Gram Sabhas.
  • Skill Development and Market Linkage: The skills provided should be designed as per the market demand. Also, market linkage is essential for marketing of goods such as handicrafts and food products manufactured by women. Handicraft fairs and exhibitions can be organised by the government.
  • Continuous Support System: Women need mentoring and guidance even after training. The government and NGOs should develop a strong continuous support system to assist women entrepreneurs in enterprise establishment, marketing and financial management.
  • Promoting Social Change: Women empowerment cannot be achieved only through skill development and financial independence. Social change is also necessary to promote gender equality and prevent violence against women. The government should conduct awareness campaigns and involve men from the community in the programmes.

Continuous improvement and strengthening of the Madhya Pradesh Shaurya Dal Yojana can bring positive change in the lives of rural women. This scheme will not only empower women economically but will also strengthen the rural economy.

Challenges

  • Lack of awareness about the scheme.
  • Difficult for women to get training and financial assistance.
  • Empowerment of women due to social customs and stereotypes.
