1. Statue of Unity
The Statue of Unity, depicting Indian politician and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is currently the tallest statue in the world. Located on a river island opposite the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Kevadiya Colony, the statue was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018 – Mr Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary.

2. Spring Temple Buddha
The second tallest statue in the world, the Spring Temple Buddha is a magnificent statue representing Vairocana Buddha. It is built in the middle of a lotus-shaped throne. Located within the Fodushan Scenic Area, construction of this statue began in the year 1997 and continued until 2008. The statue is built on a hill which has been reshaped to create two more pedestals. The estimated cost of the entire project was $55 million and approximately $18 million was spent on the statue alone.

3. Laykyun Sekkya
Standing on a 13.5-meter throne, Leykyun Sekka is one of the tallest statues in the world. It is a grand structure of Gautam Buddha in golden colour. It was built to commemorate the birth of Shinran, the founder of the “True Pure Land School” of Buddhism.

6. Sendai Daikannon
The Sendai Daikannon is a large statue of Nyoirin Kannon wearing the Jewel of Kannon, located in Sendai, Japan. There is an elevator to take visitors to the top of the statue depicting Kannon, the bodhisattva of Shingon Buddhism. The creation of this statue was completed in 1991.

Qianshou Qianyan Guanyin of Weishan is the fourth tallest statue in China and the seventh tallest on Earth. This gilded bronze statue depicts the Bodhisattva, who symbolizes the compassion of all Buddhas. 260 million yuan was invested by the Ningshan County government with the help of local businesses and religious organizations to complete the construction of the statue in 2009.

8. Great Buddha of Thailand
The Great Buddha of Thailand, also known as The Great Buddha, is the tallest statue in Thailand, the second tallest in Southeast Asia, and the eighth tallest in the world. The statue was built on the orders of Phra Kru Vibul Arjarkhun, the first monk head of Wat Mueang Temple. Money was donated by realist Buddhists to build this statue. 9. Hokkaido Kannon

The construction of this statue started in 1975 and was completed in 1989. This statue has more than 20 floors with elevators. There are temples and places of worship on most of the floors and a platform that offers spectacular views of the surroundings.
