The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the CDS exam twice yearly for candidates pursuing a career in the Air Force, Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Officers Training Academy. The UPSC released CDS 1 2024 notification for 457 Vacancies on 20th December 2023. The final interview and medical examination will release candidates who qualify for the written examination date.
CDS examination is conducted for candidates for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Candidates who want to apply for CDS 1 Exam 2024 must check the eligibility criteria to ensure their exam eligibility.

Registration UPSC OTR 2014
UPSC has launched a One Time Registration (OTR) platform through which candidates can fill out the registration form for any UPSC exam. OTR can be completed at any time of the year. Candidates can make changes in OTR within 7 days of filing OTR. Candidates should follow the steps given below to apply for OTR;
- Visit the website upsconline.nic.in
- Click on New Tab Registration
- Provide details – Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Mobile Number, Address ID etc.
- Fill the Captcha
- Click on Submit Button
- An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID
- Log in again to your account and reset your password
- Log in to your account again and access the CDS app link
How to apply for the CDS Application Form?
The steps required to complete the schedule are given below:
- To apply, go to the website upsconline.nic.in
- Login to an account or register for OTR
- Click on the CDS Exam Link
- Fill required details
- Upload a photo, signature and photo ID
- Submit CDS Exam Registration Fee
- Select CDS Exam Center
- Lastly, submit the Application Form
- A confirmation message will be sent to the candidates’ registered mobile number and email address
UPSC CDS 1 Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria specified by the Union General Commission for Defense Recruitment. See detailed eligibility (nationality, education, age, marital status, gender) below.

| Education | (i) IMA For and Officers Training Academy, Chennai – Degree of a recognized University or equivalent (ii) For Indian Naval Academy – Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.(iii) For Air Force Academy – Degree (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering from a recognized University. |
| Age | (i) For IMA – Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2 January 2001 and not later than 1 January 2006 are eligible. (ii) For Indian Naval Academy – Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2 January 2001 and not later than 1 January 2006 are eligible. (iii) For Air Force Academy – 20 to 24 years as on 1 January 2025 i.e. born not before 2 January 2001 and not after 1 January 2005. |
