Purnima Devi Barman

  • She is a biologist from Assam, and was featured on the Time's Women of The Year 2025 list as a conservationist for saving one of the most endangered storks in the world.
  • She worked for the conservation of “The Greater Adjutant stork”, also called hargila, or bone swallower in Assamese is an endangered bird as per IUCN red list
  • Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972: Schedule IV.

V. Anantha Nageswaran

  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister of India recently approved extending the tenure of Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) V. Anantha Nageswaran for two years till March 2027.
  • He was appointed to the position in 2022 and has also served as a part-time member of the economic advisory council to the prime minister from 2019 to 2021.

Gyanesh Kumar 

  • Gyanesh Kumar, an IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, has been appointed as India’s next Chief Election Commissioner. 
  • Earlier, he was secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Cooperation. 
  • He was also in charge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs when Article 370 was abrogated in 2019. 

Rekha Gupta

  • She is a first-time MLA (BJP) from Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi is now Delhi’s 9th Chief Minister. 
  • She began her political journey through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, in 1992.
  • She got elected as the President and General Secretary of the Delhi University Students Union in 1996-97. 

Muhsin Hendricks

Musin Hendrick dubbed the world's first openly gay Imam was shot dead in South Africa.

He founded a mosque in Cape Town for 2SLGBTQ+ Muslims and travelled the world with his teachings.

  • 2SLGBTQ+ is an acronym that stands for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other sexual and gender identities.
